Heritage Society of Pacific Grove P. O. Box 1007 Pacific Grove, CA 93950 Fax Cover Sheet DATE: April 9, 1997 TIME: 7:25 AM TO: Gretchen Leffler PHONE: Community Dev Dept. FAX: FROM: Adam Weiland PHONE: FAX: Number of pages including cover sheet: 3 RE: 618 Cedar Street, Block 181 Lot 10 5h Addition Message: Hi Gretchen. The house at 618 Cedar was indeed built between March 1925 and March 1926, and first assessed in 1926. The owner was Ben Fuller. As you can see from the attached 1926 Sanborn map, there was confusion over all the addresses in this block. I suspect it was because all three houses (614, 618 Cedar and 822 Gibson) were all very recently built when the map maker visited. This is why it was not included on our original list. Daniel & Eudora LeaIy owned lots 8, 9, 10 & 11 as ofMarch 1925 and no structures existed on these lots at that time. Shortly thereafter, they sold lot 10 to Ben Fuller who had 618 Cedar built in mid-1925. This house should be onthelist. They soldlot 11 to R. C. Fuller who had 614 Cedar completed between March 1926 and June 1926 (not assessed in 1926 but on 1926 map). This house appeared to be an exact duplicate of 618, but has since been stuccoed over. I would not include 614 on the list. The Leary's then sold lots 8 and 9 to Charles and Mildred Harris, who had 822 Gibson completed between March 1926 and June 1926 (not assessed in 1926, but on 1926 Sanborn map). This house is still there and is a stucco house, but I suspect it was built that way. Ifyou have the color slides of the 1926 maps, you may be able to tell if it was indeed stucco in 1926. If so, it should be on the list. I hope this information helps you. Thanks. 1, , OCR Text: Heritage Society of Pacific Grove P. O.
