The first owner of this structure, according to the County's assessor's records was: Wallace C. Brown Other Comments: The 1907 City Directory lists Wallace Brown as Editor and proprietor ofthe Pacific Grove Review residing at 825 Pine. At that time, Hillcrest street did not even exist. The 1926 City Directory lists Wallace Brown as residing at 549 Hillcrest. House was previously awarded a Heritage House Award made of wood which deteriorated and was returned to us. We will replace it in the next year with a brass plague. Plague Status: ® Structure is eligible for a plague and one will be made up for you at no charge. You will be notified when plague is ready. It could take 4 to 6 months. U Structure is eligible for plague, but it must be requested by the owner.
