History article written for the GFHS website,A Little “Buzz” about Histog
Have you eaten at the Buzz Inn lately? Come in through the back door? If
not, you’ve missed not only
a good meal, but a quick look back at the history of that whole block of
buildings on the east side of S.
Granite Ave. Hanging on the wall in the back hall is a set of pictures
showing essentially the entire block
a century ago, except for the space occupied by the Buzz Inn building
itself (there are two small pictures
showing that space hanging in the main dining room).
Remember, prohibition was in effect
when this map was made in 1917.
Taverns suddenly dealt in soft drinks,
cigars, stationary. etc.
